I saw theologian Joel Muddamalle post something about is there judgement for sin here on earth right now back in January. We were in the midst of watching California burn. During those times the question of how can a good God allow things like this to happen always comes up. Along with the editorial comments of “well, God is punishing them for wayward ways.” Joel said, in a nutshell, that yes there is judgement on this earth because this is a fallen earth.
There is judgement for sin. For who? All of us. Every single one of us face judgement from God. Because we are all sinners. We can’t live on a perfect earth because we are not a perfect humanity.
You know whose judgement doesn’t matter? Mine. Yours. Your Aunt Sally’s or your next door neighbor’s. Not even your mother’s. God’s is the only one that counts. You do reap what you sow. Act accordingly.
